TRUE linkswear’s goal when they started was to make a comfortable golf shoe for walking players. Linksoul is a lifestyle apparel company whose roots are in golf. The two companies have collaborated in the past, and this year they collaborated on a booth.
If you’re slightly confused by the similar names and shared booth space, don’t feel alone. The two companies were listed separately in the PGA Merchandise Show exhibitor list, though their booths were right next to each other. When you found them, though, their booth display was all the same space. As a side note, I think their choice of using a trailer that opened up into a display was a genius move. Booth structures are expensive, as is having them moved onto the floor, set up, and then stored for the other 51 weeks out of the year. This looked like a functioning trailer, which would only need to be driven to the convention center, moved onto the floor and opened up. Oh, and did I mention it had a kegerator? Because it did.
But I digress about trade show booths. This post is about new stuff coming out, and TRUE linkswear had four new shoe styles they were showing off.
TRUE linkswear Eco Knit
Somebody forgot to get rid of all the water bottles that were emptied during setup. No, not really. These water bottles were on display because the Eco Knit shoes use REPREVE fiber, which is a material made out of recycled water bottles. If you’re wondering, the REPREVE material is just the upper part of the shoe, while the sole is made from the standard material they use for their soles. It will initially come in Tropic Blue, Obsidian Black and Stone Grey, with other colors coming in the summer.
Launch: February 10, 2020
TRUE linkswear OG Feel
The OG Feel* is a shoe that is meant to have the comfort and breathability of a running shoe but has the support and traction of a golf shoe. It will come in Static Black (pictured), Varsity White/Navy and Everyday Grey.
Launch: Mid April 2020
*Edit: TRUE linkswear noted that this might not be the final name and may change closer to launch.
TRUE linkswear Lux Knit and Lux Pro
The Lux Knit and Lux Pro are both waterproof and sitting on what the companies are calling the Wanderlux Proprietary Sole. They said that the sole provides luxurious cushion and uses a material that, unlike other soles of this style, will never wrinkle or crease where the sole bends. The Lux Knit uses a waterproof knit upper and come in Player Black (pictured, left), Timeless Grey and Heathered Navy. The Lux Pro uses a premium leather for the upper and will come in Tour Black (pictured, right), Pro White and Heritage Brown.
Launch: Summer 2020
MSRP: Lux Knit: $169, Lux Pro: $199
My full-time job has always been in the IT world, but I’ve also spent the better part of a decade writing product reviews and helping cover large industry-only trade shows. It was only in the latter part of 2019 that I put two and two together and realized I should be doing the same thing for something I’ve loved my whole life — golf. This is the culmination of a hobby that started as a child, a hobby that turned into a passion as an adult, and finally a passion that turned into The Golden Ferret.
